On May 1s, 2010 the Collective had a third event at Rumbo studios in Canoga Park. This million dollar recording studio is where No Doubt recorded tragic kingdom, Guns and Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, and many other bands have recorded. From 4pm to 4am on two stages there were not stop bands performing.

I painted a picture in the Consciousness room where the acoustic bands and hiphop groups performed all night. I also tattooed David Block who played acoustically and also with The Human Experience who closed the place down. I managed to get some footage and made this little video to share. I hope you like it, and are inspired to come out to the next collective event.

Tattoos at Hot Dawgs and Hand Rails 2009

I made it up to Hot Dawgs and Hand Rails at Big Bear Mountain this passed weekend. The contest was fairly interesting, but I lost interest in watching other people snowboard after about an hour. Instead, I drank a lot of beer and took pictures of everyone’s tattoos. I apologize that I don’t remember everyone’s names or the artists who worked on the pieces names. Thanks to my good friend Danny Thomas for bringing me up, and the Arbor Snowboard crew for the hospitality. You can find the tattoo photos here.

Ink N Iron 2009 Video

I shot and edited this video for Neuma Tattoo Machines. I got so caught up working on Sunday that I didn’t even think to get any video of myself tattooing to include in it! Oh well, it’s still a great video. Hope to be back next year.

Gary Livingston is an amazing photographer and all-around nice guy who celebrated his birthday this year putting on an event for local artists. It was a great night with a lot of old friends, most of which I haven’t seen in over five years. Highlights were Jaco performing his no solo material with his band, and his sister Codi Caraco who blew me away with her poppy folk music. Good friends and good times.

Ink N Iron

Last weekend was the Ink N Iron festival at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. I’ve never been to the Queen Mary before and it was really cool to be able to tattoo on a haunted ship! Friday and Saturday I filmed a promotional video for Neuma Tattoo Machines. Until I finish editing it, here are a few photos from the show.
