This past weekend I was invited to shoot Sublime with Rome for Point Panic Festival in Hawaii. The first show was Saturday at Waterfront Park in Oahu and the second Sunday at the Maui Cultural Arts Center in Maui. Both shows were great and I got a lot of great footage.

Hawaii is a beautiful place and I am grateful for the opportunity to go there with one of my favorite bands of all time. Friday we got in a little early and rented a car to explore Oahu. Here’s a few photos from our time off the day before the shows.

iHeartRadio Festival with SWR

I had the pleasure of taking photos at the iHeartRadio festival this past weekend in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. Sublime with Rome played with some of the biggest musical artists in the world including Steven Tyler, Jeff Beck, David Guetta, JLo, Usher, Sting, and Lady Gaga. It was crazy to be at the show backstage for such a big event. Here are a few of my photos of Sublime with Rome from their quick 20 minute set.

Big Sur Surfers

Last week immediately after the Unity Tour with Sublime with Rome I got out of town for a few days to Northern California to relax and decompress. I came across these surfers in Big Sur after hearing from friends in southern California about the swell coming in, and got a couple cool shots of them surfing.

I haven’t surfed since I was 16 but I’d love to get out there again and catch a few waves myself next time.

Sublime with Rome at Red Rocks, Colorado

If you’ve been following my work you know that I love getting out in nature and taking a lot of landscape photos. Yesterday while on tour with Sublime with Rome I took this picture of the sunset at Red Rocks in Colorado. It was built by the Civillian Conservation Corps in the 1941 into the side of a mountain between a natural red rock amphitheater. It was an amazing and magical night I feel lucky to have shared with everyone. We fly out to San Diego tomorrow morning for the last week of tour for the summer. I can’t wait to be back in my home state California!

Unity Tour 2011 with 311 a d Sublime with Rome

Life on the road is a trip. You fall asleep in one place and wake up in another. Town to town, working nonstop shooting photos and videos for Sublime with Rome has been one of the best experiences of my life. We’re only a week in, but we already have a ton of new content up from the tour. So far we’ve hit Kansas City, St Louis, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. Here’s some photos and video.

Sonic Ranch Neve Studio – Sublime With Rome Sessions

While everyone was out at lunch yesterday I shot a 360° panorama of the recording studio at Sonic Ranch. You can see my dog Niko in the back of the room sleeping on the couch. This is where the majority of the Sublime With Rome album is being recorded. It is the inside of the building from the time lapse video I posted a few days ago.

Oaks Christian School Campus Tour

I was commissioned to create an interactive virtual tour of Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California to replace their existing virtual tour that I originally created in 2003. The new tour has finally been launched on their website for you to check out. It features over forty fully interactive 360 degree panoramas from different locations on campus.

The process of photographing the school took almost and entire year from start to finish. Each panorama is made of approximately 30-40 pictures taken with a special tripod and stitched together painstakingly to ensure the most realistic results. Once the panoramas were all created and checked for any “inappropriate” content, I designed the user interface in HTML & CSS and designed the map in Adobe Flash. Every mark you make, impression you leave and memory you create is a token on the path from which you’ve come. Photos, videos, written commitments published as ritual affirmations stored forever to record our existence. The trails we take and the choices we make are the foundations for future growth opportunities and the cycle continues endlessly.

I always tell people “Smile at your future self” when they don’t want to take pictures. Best genuine smile you can ever hope to get.

Cathedral Rock – Sedona, AZ
